While the book did have some good moments, I couldn’t get past the annoying characters and slow-moving plot to enjoy it. But the course of both friendship and recovery is rougher than either girl realises, and Caddy is about to learn that downward spirals have a momentum of their own.īeautiful Broken Things had the potential to be great but, unfortunately, I was completely underwhelmed and frustrated with the story and its characters. As Suzanne’s past is revealed and her present begins to unravel, Caddy begins to see how much fun a little trouble can be.
